Jan Meza Jan Meza received her Master of Music Degree from the New England Conservatory of Music, Boston, MA and her Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Nebraska, Lincoln. She is currently a performing pianist, composer, and business woman. She has studied piano with Sergey Schepkin, Angel Rivera, and Jeanette Giguere; voice with Rod Gisick, Jan Curtis, and Bernie Barbeau; and composition and theory with Steve Savage and Joe Maneri. Her most recent commissions include a work for percussion for Boston Conservatory’s percussion ensemble and a work written for the opening of the National Homesteaders’ Museum in Beatrice, NE. Highlights of her musical career include performing for Queen Elizabeth II for the Bicentennial Celebration, performing in the movie “Where’s Boston” which was for many years a visitor’s introduction to the city, performing with the Cantata Singers, Handel and Haydn Society, the Boston Symphony, the Boston Pops, the Opera Company of Boston, the original Lyric Opera, at Tanglewood, and at the Van Cliburn Institute. Jan helped to set up and run her husband’s design corporation and is currently head of her own real estate development company. She is currently on the Board of Visitors at the New England Conservatory of Music and is a Director of the non-profit Classics New England. She has held office in a number of organizations.
